Join us for the first all-groups meeting of the year and catch up with what everyone has been up to.
Our guest speaker this month is Tarn Gilman, who as well as wrangling pests at Auckland Zoo moonlights as Urban Ark’s volunteer GIS specialist. For the last few months Tarn has been working on a digital trapping map showing the location and of traps and the trapping activity across the Urban Ark area. We are hoping this will become a powerful tool to help us all get a greater understanding of how our groups and faring compared to other groups across the region.
During the meeting we will:
When Thursday 9 February 6.30–8.30pm
Where Upstairs at Gribblehirst Hub, 5 Cabbage Tree Swamp Drive
Who Group leadership. Please let us know if more than 3 are coming from your group.

Predator Free Herne Bay-Ponsonby are a group of motivated locals who want to see a diverse range of native birds thriving in the area. Rats, stoats and possums eat the eggs and chicks of our native species, so the group is targeting them by establishing a long-term network of active traps in back yards.
If you live in the area shown here and would like to join the group, you can pick up a free rat trap at their forthcoming trap giveaway event.
Date: 18 February
Time: 11am - 1pm
Location: Salisbury Reserve, 19 Salisbury Street, Herne Bay
Each trap comes with a wooden safety box to protect the paws of curious pets and kids. There will be full instruction given on the safe and humane use of traps on the day.
If you can’t make it but would like to get involved, contact Lisa Busch via https://www.pfhb.org
