Predator Free Herne Bay-Ponsonby are a group of motivated locals who are keen to see more native birds in the area.
They are targeting rats, stoats and possums by getting traps into back yards.
If you live in Herne Bay, Ponsonby, St Marys Bay or Freemans Bay please register your interest by emailing the group lead and they’ll remind you when the next free trap handout is taking place. These are normally at Cox’s Bay Park or Salisbury Reserve, where you’ll be able to pick up a trap and set of instructions, get a safety demo and learn how to report your catches.
