Friends of Maungawhau has been actively engaged in the ecological restoration of Maungawhau/Mt Eden since the 1980s. We work closely with Auckland Council’s Tūpuna Maunga team and contractors.
Our volunteers help with weeding, planting and nursery work. We usually work on the third Saturday of the month between 9.30am and noon, either at the end of Batger Road off Mt Eden Road, or in the nursery off Puhi Huia Rd. Tasks and location depend on the priorities at the time, the time of year, and volunteer numbers. Gloves and tools are provided.
