Flooded Streams: Reflections 12 months on

Monday 18 March 2024, 7:00pm - 8:00pm

It has been over 12 months since the major flooding events of late January 2023. For many the impact lingers on, but for others the effect on our streams and wider lives is beginning to recede. But this is not something we want to forget.

Come and hear Nick Vigar, Head of Planning for Auckland Council’s Heathy Waters team, reflect on what happened, why it happened, what has been done since and how we can mitigate the impact of future flooding.

The talk will be preceded by “Exploring Ōpoutūkeha Cox’s Creek”, a guided walk along the (largely underground) route of Cox’s Creek and a change to visit a wetland created on the site of the old Cashmore’s timber mill.

Both events are parrt of EcoFest and are free but numbers are limited. Book through Humantix for:
