Second Sunday Weeders 2025 Sept: Eric Armishaw Reserve

Sunday 14 September 2025, 9:00am - 11:00am

Join Pt Chev’s Second Sunday Weeders in Eric Armishaw Reserve, a place we’ve weeded a few times before. The Reserve isn’t in bad shape, but as spring rolls on the weeds will be back with a vengeance. Let’s stop them in their tracks. Controlling weeds gives our regenerating ngahere a chance to thrive, providing quality habitat for our native species.

  • Meet on the grass beside the car park at 117 Walker Rd; look for the Urban Ark flag
  • Bring your favourite gardening gloves and secatuers if you have them, but we’ll also have spare gear you can borrow.
  • If you don’t have two hours to spare, just drop in for as long as you can manage.

Sometimes there is cake, often there is good chat, and always there are weeds to pull.

Bullock Track Weeding Bee 2025 Sept

Sunday 21 September 2025, 9:30am - 11:00am

Join Forest & Bird for a Sunday morning in nature. Give seedlings a helping hand.

Top entrance, Bullock Track & Old Mill Rd (cnr the Bullock Track and Old Mill Road ) - this week we are going to walk to the bottom of the track and work by the wall where the central interceptor work is underway.

Why We Need You
Spring is here and we have been making great progress at the Bullock Track, but the invasive weeds like morning glory and jasmine do not rest, so we don’t either. Our seedlings at the Bullock Track need space and sunlight to thrive—and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for new and returning volunteers to join our next weeding bee this Sunday. It’s a great chance to spend time outdoors, meet like-minded people, and make a real difference in your local bush reserve.
