This month we invite you to join us for another enhancement planting in our precious rock forest.

The planting site is down in the bushes, below the shared path, opposite Pak’n Save. So access can be via Harbutt Avenue, Soljak Place or Trent Street - look out for the flags.

Explore Waitītiko- Meola Creek by night with the Mountains to Sea team and Urban Ark.

Learn about what comes alive at night in your local stream with the Mountains to Sea team and Urban Ark.

We will be leading a guided walk and spotlighting event to showcase the biodiversity of this awa. See eels, banded kokopu, macroinvertebrates, and more! Learn about the journey the awa takes from the mountains to the sea and hear about the amazing mahi that local community groups like Chamberlain Conservation Group and STEPS are doing to restore this awa.

Registrations are essential for this event. This event is run by Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR) and Whitebait Connection (WBC) which are both programmes of the Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust and is in collaboration with Urban Ark. This event is kindly funded by the Albert Eden Local Board and Auckland Council Healthy Waters. Register here.

• Head torch or hand torch
• Warm clothes and rain coat
• Closed shoes you do not mind getting muddy

Please note you must be able to walk 1.2km on uneven ground and ascend/descend stairs.

Join us for our August all-groups meeting.

When Thursday 29 August 2024 6.30–8.30pm

Where Upstairs at Waiōrea Community recycling Centre - 990 Great North Road.

Who Group leadership and close affiliates. Please let us know if more than 3 are coming from your group.

Getting there and parking: Cycle path and bus lanes go past the door. Park beside the Western Springs Community Garden Hall, 956 Great North Road. Or if you have mobility issues you’re welcome to park in the recycling centre car park (one of the posts will be removed).

Refreshments: We’ll be providing some food, so please make sure you rsvp [Enable JavaScript to view protected content] so we can plan catering.

Requesting supplies like traps, boxes, bait, tools etc: Please ensure you let us know what you need in advance of the meeting so we can have it prepped and ready for you.
