Second Sunday Weeders 2026 March

Join the Second Sunday Weeders tackling cherry saplings and ginger on the banks of Waitītiko / Meola Creek. The headland at the end of De Luen St has a lot of cherry seedlings and other weeds which need some control to give the native seedlings a chance to thrive. No experience necessary; we can point you in the direction of weeds and teach you what needs to be done.
Bring your favourite gardening gloves and secateurs if you have them, but we’ll also have spare gear you can borrow. And if you don’t have two hours to spare, but drop in for as long as you can manage.
Sometimes there is cake, often there is good chat, and always there are weeds to pull.
