Waitītiko Mountain to the Sea Walk Day 2: Norgrove Reserve to Meola Reef

Explore Waitītiko (Meola Creek) – the stream with the biggest catchment on the Auckland isthmus – as it makes its way from Mountain to the Sea.
This two-and-a-half-hour amble is the second of a pair of walks which together trace the stream from its source on the eastern slopes of Ōwairaka (Mt Albert) to the sea at Te Tokaroa (Meola Reef). Today we are going from Norgrove Reserve in Mt Albert to Te Tokaroa / Meola Reef. The first walk is on Sunday 4 September.
Today you will:
- see the ongoing restoration of Norgrove Reserve
- hear how schools and community groups are working ot improve the native biodiversity of Pasadena Reserve
- See (at a distance) STEPS lava rock forest restoration
- learn about salt marshes beside of Meola Reef
Book your free ticket here. Meet at the end of Norgrove Ave, Mt Albert. The walk is 3.5km long and we’ll have cars to take you back to the start (mask mandatory).
