Friends of Maungawhau has been actively engaged in the ecological restoration of Maungawhau/Mt Eden since the 1980s. We work closely with Auckland Council’s Tūpuna Maunga team and contractors.
Our key activities are weeding and planting – mainly on the western and southern slopes, and sometimes further afield. We also do occasional nursery work, propagating and growing plants for the maunga.
Volunteers meet every Tuesday morning and once a month on a Saturday morning (usually the first Saturday of the month). We welcome new volunteers. If you would like to help on a casual or regular basis, please get in touch.
